Midstates Builders, Inc., began October 14, 1947, as Modern Builders, Inc., by C.J. Simmers, P.W. Sonner, Vernon Harmon, and Wm. J. Christie.
Vemon Harmon took ownership of Modern Builders, Inc., on March 31, 1959, and changed the
company name to Harmon Building Services, Inc., on August 25, 1960. From November 13,
1961, until December 16, 1962, Harmon Building Services, Inc., ownership included Vernon
Harmon, Robert E. Bryson, and Robert Anderson.
On December 17, 1962, ownership included Robert A. Anderson and Kenneth Severson, who
then changed the company name to Midstates Builders, Inc., on July 2, 1965. In 1979, Midstates
Builders, Inc., ownership changed to Robert Anderson and Robert Bodenhamer. Crown
Investments, Inc., (owned by Robert Bodenhamer; Incorporated in the State of Iowa
June 1, 1973)
was used to purchase Midstates Builders, Inc., in October of 1987 and Crown Investments, Inc.,
then changed its name to Midstates Builders, Inc. James F. Schuller purchased Midstates
Builders, Inc., from Robert Bodenhamer April 30, 1997. Craig A. Wampler became a minority
shareholder in August 2006, and purchased the company outright August 31, 2007.
